~tummy tickling trivia~

The story goes that the original recipe for sambar a dish which is so intrinsic to Tamil Nadu cuisine can actually be traced to Maratha ruler Shivaji's son. Legend has it that Shivaji's son Sambhaji, who was one of the Maratha rulers, attempted to make dal for himself when his head chef was away.
The thinner and crispier version of Dosa, which is popular all over India, was first made in Karnataka.
Staple ingredients of Indian cuisine like potato, tomato and chilli don't have Indian origin. They were brought to India by the Portuguese.

what people say

'...for those looking for a small authentic taste of south India make sure you drop by here as this joint does not compromise on flavour and then probably plan your next trip to south India. It certainly leaves you " CHUTNIFIED"!!'
-Clinton D.
Chutnify offers by far the best Indian food in Berlin. Most dishes are quite authentic. The best taste you have with the Idli and the Keema Paw.
-Sebastian K.
'It’s probably the only true “cool kid” in our list with it’s modern design and street food style kitchen. What we like about this place is that is has a very different type of menu than the usual Indian places so you will have also a very different culinary experience eating here.'
-Lesko K.
